THE IMPERFECT, PERFECT JOSH WALD.
Last week I found a wonderful hardback book entitled "Quotationary", edited by Leonard Roy Frank, on sale at BORDERS! Inside I found the following quote: "There is no excellent beauty that hath not some strangeness in the proportion." [FRANCIS BACON, 1561-1626] When I first read this I immediately thought of my favorite male model. His nose is not the nose of your typical cover boy and one of his eyes is noticeably smaller than the other. So I'm wondering, would Josh be as alluring if he had these features fixed? Probably not. In fact, in my opinion his nose is one of his best features.

WHO INSPIRED ME THE MOST IN 2006!?
It's the end of 2006 (finally!) and time for an annual tradition of mine. At the end of each year I make a list of 5 individuals who've influenced positive changes in my life within the past 12 months.

Okay, so raise your hand if you knew my favorite male model would make the list. We all need to escape reality every now and then and Josh was a BIG escape for me this year. He's influenced my hairstyle, my weight, plus believe it or not, helped me improve my computer skills. Because of my "school-girl crush" I got up the nerve to join my first Yahoo! group, started blogging, learned how to download, upload, add links, create a JPEG photo album, met fellow groupies from around the world, questioned my own life's choices and more. Want proof? Just read Blog.1-27. --- Will I outgrow this crush? Eventually. But for now he infuses whimsical fantasy into my humdrum world. As I've stated before, he's a little spoonful of sugar that takes away some of life's bitterness.

Although a picture's worth a thousand words, it doesn't tell the whole story. This week, as I studied new web pics of my favorite male model I wondered, "Just how deep does the beauty of Josh Wald go?" Besides good looks, what else does he offer? Is Josh smart, dependable, compassionate, funny, a good listener, can he give a good foot massage, do kids like him? And what does he offer that I can't? I'm simply obsessively curious as usual.

So what did Mary Poppins teach us? That a little bit of sugar can help us tolerate the all the bad stuff. I've been thinking, am I a fan of male model Josh Wald because he's sort of like a spoonful of sugar for my life? Of course too much sugar is bad for you and can become problematic. Hmmm.

What Does Josh Wald Think?
When male model Josh Wald steps out of the shower and looks into the mirror what does he tell himself? Does he compliment what he sees or does he knit-pick frustrating problem areas like most of us? (Does the guy even have problem areas?) Sure the real world doesn't merely consist of supermodels, bodybuilders and toned swimmers. However, most of us often beat-up ourselves as we compare our OUTER selves to theirs. But, does Josh? Is coming out of the shower a proud thrill for him or a constant frustration?... Hmmmm. Just curious.

Supermodel Josh Wald?
Almost two years ago, the handsome model was touted all over the Internet as the next, great male SUPERMODEL ! By now I was expecting every woman and man (gay and straight) to know his name. What happened? Who's to blame? Is he too much this and not enough that? Did he sign with the wrong agency? Did his manager give him bad advice? Without question Mr. Wald has a great look and is very photogenic. However, I'm curious as to choices that were made by him and for him that have prevented his uber-fame? (Can you tell I often use Josh to analyze myself?)

Shouldn't Josh Wald "Turn Me Off"?
Years ago, while searching for a boyfriend, I made a list of "turn-offs". Sorry, no disrespect to you readers who fall into these categories, but guys with tattoos and smokers were at the top of the list. Naturally, me being me, I compromised and ended up dating a few chain-smokers and a fellow with a hideous, red dragon across his back. During those relationships the things that were "turn-offs" never, ever became "turn-ons".

Then why is it that Josh Wald (a tattoo adorned, cigarette smoking, male model) continues to captivate me so? Shouldn't the "turn-offs" be enough to repulse me, no matter how pretty the fellow is? If not, what does it say about me? Hmmm. --- Now if I found out Josh loved eating raw onions, hated bathing, and had a prison record would I finally swear off the dude?... Don't count on it. It certainly didn't stop me from dating guys with those very same "yuck factors".

Gettin' Into Josh Wald's Pants !!!
Let me explain. Last year, around this same time, I was wearing size 38" pants. Today, after extensive dieting (and illness) I'm now a size 33!!! As mentioned in Blog.18 skateboarder/model Josh Wald is said to have a 32.5" waist. That means I'm half an inch away from wearing his same pant waist size! So what's been going through my mind for several days? "I'm almost like Josh, I'm almost like Josh!!!" Of course fitting into the guys pants won't cause model agencies to suddenly start calling, however somehow it does make me feel just a wee bit prettier. --- I can't decide what to do next. Should I learn to skateboard or get a tattoo? Hee-hee!!!

Josh Wald: Skateboarder/Model/...Over The Hill !!!???
Last week was Olympus Fashion Week in New York. So I wondered if Josh was scheduled to walk any of the NY runways. A fellow groupie, from the JoshWald group site, did some research. He figured that based on the very young models set to appear Josh would not be included, since he was "a bit older". What!!!??? A BIT OLDER!!!??? Why he's younger than I am! (No wisecracks folks.)

Yes I know that the fashion world is obsessed with youth, but who would pass on a great model like Josh? Decide for yourself if he's to old to walk the hottest runways. Josh Wald: Skateboarder/ Model/ Uniter. Since my last posting a few of my fellow groupies at the JoshWald Yahoo! Group united to try and figure out a way to upload some new pics of our favorite male model onto the group site. There was a problem with the original format, or something. I myself tried enthusiastically to work out a solution. However, I'm not very computer savvy so terms like "jpg format's, URL's, Window's XP's, bmp & PDF files" were just "blah-blah-blah" to me. After a few days a couple of folks got the photos onto the site. It got me to thinking, "Amazing! Strangers from different parts of the world united and worked diligently for a common purpose: to save pictures of a great-looking guy. If everyone knew and loved Josh Wald like we did, could the world maybe be a better place?"
