Josh Wald: Skateboarder/ Model/... International Obsession.
The "IT" Factor. I love silent films and their stars. This week I saw a great documentary entitled Clara Bow: Discovering the "IT" Girl. The show had a great definition that has been obsessively on my mind since: "IT" is that peculiar quality which some persons possess, which attracts others... The possessor of "IT" must be absolutely unselfconscious, and must have that magnetic "sex appeal" which is irresistible. "IT" is a magnetic and peculiar force, and you know it as soon as you come in contact. --- from the 1926 racy best selling novel IT, which later was made into a silent film starring Clara Bow. Of course in my book no one has more "IT" factor than Josh. Last week I received a posted message on the Josh Wald Yahoo! Group site from a fellow groupie who lives in Indonesia! He wrote: "hi albert!! ehm....want you help me to seek the email of josh wald? please help me because i want know who he is and i hope i can be his friends!! please.......!!!!!" I also read the other messages he had posted and didn't need an editor or translator to explain what was in his heart and mind. Personally, it was easy to relate.
After giving much thought as to how to sensitively respond to his e-mail I posted my reply:
"Haris, it's so great to know that Josh has international appeal. I agree he is a good model and as as we say in the states 'he's hot'.
In response to your request, unfortunately I do not have the information you want. I suspect that everyone who has and will ever join our Josh Wald Yahoo! Group feels the same as you do. We all want to know more about him in some way or another or we would not have signed up as members. Like you, some of us at times have fantasized about actually meeting Josh in person, wondered what a date with him would be like or wished he could be our 'best friend'. I'm sure there are some people in the world who have been lucky enough to know what it's like from personal experience. However, most of us in the group do not.
Realistically, as of this writing there are 858 members in our group. There is no way Josh could personally write or call all of us and be a friend to everyone. Judging by all his latest pictures on-line Josh is a very busy and in demand male model. Plus I'm pretty sure he's like most people and treasures his privacy.
What we can do is continue to read about him for fun, share our thoughts and seek out more great pictures of Josh on the Internet and through various magazines. I haven't heard about him having an official web-site yet or having an address for fan mail like many celebrities have. However, I like to fantasize that every now and then he logs onto his computer and sneaks a peak at sites just like ours to find out what fans think. I've read that lots of famous people do just that. It would certainly be a wonderful boost to his ego.
Now another idea is to become a talented and very rich clothes designer. That way you could hire Josh to model for all your fashion shows and get him to wear lots of tattoo revealing bathing suits and sexy outfits. --- Ha-ha, Simply Joshin' !"
